The Thing is a superhero in the Ultimate Marvel Universe and is based on the the Thing from the Marvel Universe.
Origin
After taking part in an interdimensional experiment with his childhood friend Reed Richards, Ben Grimm was accidentally transformed into a monstrous creature with rock-like skin. He began calling himself the Thing and with Reed, Susan Storm and Johnny Storm formed the superhero team the Fantastic Four.
Origin
Benjamin Grimm was born and raised in Queens, New York by his mother Rachel Grimm. As a teenager, he attended Midtown High School, where he was the star linebacker of the school's football team, earning the nickname "The Grimm Reaper".
