Super Green Beret is a short-lived superhero who starred in his own comic book in the 60's.
Origin[]
Young Tod Holton was given a magical green beret by his uncle, a green beret home on two weeks' leave from South Viet Nam. His uncle explains that an ancient mystic enchanted the beret after he saved his life. Now it is charged that whenever a soldier was in trouble, someone noble and young could use the beret to become the super powered Super Green Beret to help them. After a brief experiment it transpires that Tod Holton is that person. The beret allows Tod to choose any power he pleases and the beret will instantly provide it. The beret also has extremely powerful telepathy that detects where Tod should go to use its powers - and then teleports him there. The beret must be worn for Tod to transform into Super Green Beret; if it is removed he reverts to child form instantly. Saluting when wearing it causes the beret to teleport Tod to where he needs to use his powers to help soldiers in trouble; saluting again teleports him back home.
Biography[]
Tod Holton's homelife is largely unexplored, though he does have a mother whose name remains unknown. When a man named Roger Wilson saved a Vietnamese monk from a wild boar, the monk gave Wilson a magical green beret that glowed. The monk in question was actually a mystic who sits "above the center of the Earth", monitoring evil across the Earth, though Roger was unaware of this. When Roger returned to America, he decided to give the cap to his nephew, Tod Holton.
