The Black Panther (T'Challa) is a super-hero in the Marvel Universe and the ruler and protector of the nation of Wakanda.
Origin
The mantle of the Black Panther has been passed on from father to son of the kings of Wakanda. Before T'challa was the Panther his father was killed by the Man-Ape with help of an outsider. So he spied on the Avengers for weeks and then attacked then but stopped and asked for help to free Wakanda from the Man-Apes, which they did. After that he joined the Avengers.
TV shows
He appeared in the Avengers cartoon version. He did not appeared in the new movie, The Avengers but there are rumors that he might come out in The Avengers 2 and he will have his own movie in 2017.
